Now- when I finally sat down to begin this project, I wanted to explain my rationale for creating it. After going over in my head what I would want to include, I realized that I didn't want so much to help you, the reader, understand what my blog is all about, but I wanted to help myself in establishing a goal or an objective of what it is I want to be accomplished by this blog. So, while I do hope that you appreciate this intro, I selfishly admit that this first post is really for me.
My journey thus far into the realm of alternative medicine has been an unbelievably eye-opening experience. It has helped me to challenge conventional thinking and learn for myself facts that govern health and well-being. Even my personal definitions of the terms "health" and "well-being" have been reevaluated. As I learn more about these things, I hope to provide valuable insight and understanding to you as to what chiropractic is all about. There are many polarizing topics in healthcare in general as there are in chiropractic and I want to know what you think about them as I come across them. I want to create a place where we can discuss what we understand of the profession. I'm not going to pretend to know it all, but I want to help everyone better understand the possible benefits of this young (and often misunderstood) healthcare option. Much of what I will be learning over this first year is basic science, so I will be learning things like anatomy and palpation (developing my sense of touch). I intend to use this blog as kind of a journal, so entries might be raw coming straight from my brain, but that is why I want input from you. I don't want to be the teacher, but more of a resource to help you better understand chiropractic.
